The TANDEM Media Awards is a media content creation competition based on the concept of collaboration between a pair, opened to journalists, journalism students and artists in the following countries and territories: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia.
On 9 September 2021, the EU Neighbours South Programme launched the 1st edition of the TANDEM Media Awards, a media content creation competition opened to journalists, journalism students and artists in the following countries and territories: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia. The theme of the 1st edition of the TANDEM Media Awards was culture, under the slogan “Speak up culture!”. Pairs of contestants worked together to produce a single piece of journalism (print article, online article, TV programme, short video, televised report, radio report, photo report, podcast, comic strip), related to an EU-funded project or cultural initiative in theEuropean Union Southern neighbourhood region. The 1st edition of the competition rewarded the work of three pairs: a male journalist/female journalist TANDEM, a student/professional journalist TANDEM and a journalist/artist TANDEM. The awards ceremony took place in March 2022 in Tunisia, in the scope of Les Assises internationals du journalisme of Tunis. TANDEM Media Awards 2021: and the winners are...
