For another year, the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) and the Anna Lindh Foundation are organising the youth literary contest “A Sea of Words 2020”. Submissions in any of the official languages of the Euro-Mediterranean countries are accepted by 17 May 2020.

This edition aims to put forward the central role played by young people by giving them a voice to explain their own experiences and emotions in relation to climate change in the Mediterranean and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Literary Competition, which was co-founded in 2008 by the Anna Lindh Foundation and IEMED, targets young authors from the Mediterranean region. In this way, the Competition also aims to give a voice to a new generation of authors on issues of cultural diversity.

The authors of the 10 best texts, selected by an international jury, will be invited to Barcelona to attend the awards presentation ceremony (30 September), as well as a creative writing workshop and a cultural exchange to be held from 30 September to 2 October 2020.
