Algeria: EU-funded programme to raise awareness of cultural heritage inventory

An event to raise awareness of cultural heritage inventory and to launch the digital application will be held on 30 May at Algiers’ national library. The awareness day is organised by the EU-funded programme PATRIMOINE (the Support Programme to the Protection and Valorisation of cultural heritage in Algeria).

This event aimed at: sharing, with the concerned actors, the work achieved and the results reached through the programme; exchanging on the sustainability of the results through the exploitation and the update of the different tools designed; closing the operators’ training on the use of the methodological and digital tools provided by the programme; presenting the digital application.

The PATRIMOINE programme has been implemented by the ministry of culture for five years. €21.5 million is the budget provided by the European union for a better recognition of the cultural heritage as a tool for the economic and human development of Algeria. The programme has provided methodological tools, equipment and trainings in view of identifying, protecting and enhancing the Algerian heritage.
