The EU-funded OPEN Media Hub programme is organising a two-day master class in media management for Palestinian print and online media, and one for broadcast media, both taking place on 27-28 September in Ramallah.

The Master Class for Print and Online Media is designed for managers and senior editors of print and online media from Palestine and will focus on issues such as:

  • Strategies for survival and development of print and online media in a digital world;
  • Challenges and trends in multi-platform journalism;
  • Integrated newsrooms;
  • Editorial and overall organisational management.

The Master Class for Broadcast Media covers the following areas of media expertise:

  • News coverage planning;
  • Newsroom management, including integrated newsrooms;
  • News deployment/breaking news;
  • Usage of multiple sources.

The OPEN Media Hub project, funded under the OPEN Neighbourhood Programme, aims at creating a virtual media hub spanning the two regions, in order to contribute to the development of independent media and to a more accurate presentation of EU policies in the Neighbourhood regions, through the creation of a network of journalists. The OPEN Media Hub will provide skills to journalists and media managers through the fostering of professional networks, the provision of hands-on workshops, of journalist exchanges and support to audio-visual and online production.
