As the only EU Agency involved directly in external relations, the European Training Foundation (ETF) is taking an active role at the European Development Days (EDDs) – the ‘Davos for development’ organised by the European Commission.

In line with the 2018 topic – Women and Girls at the Forefront of Sustainable Development: protect, empower, invest”. – the ETF was part of a Brainstorming Lab focusing on entrepreneurial skills to empower women. The session generated ideas to promote girls and women as entrepreneurial citizens building on the EntreComp, the European entrepreneurship competence framework published by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.

The lab started with a reflection on the skills included in the framework – what is it that you have as a competence? Reflecting on three challenges women are facing when trying to express their entrepreneurial potential – social, cultural, and financial – participants shared their ideas to generate change.

Being a strong reference point for the international development community, the EDDs is the place to share ideas and experiences in education and labour policies in developing countries – and inspire innovative solutions and new partnerships to face the world’s most pressing challenges.
