An online meeting on the COVID-19 impact to drug markets is to take place on 4 June, in the framework of the EU4Monitoring Drugs project. The event will gather selected experts from south European Neighbourhood countries (ENP) who are participating in the trendspotter study ‘Impact of COVID-19 epidemic to drug markets, drug use and drug-related health responses in the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) area’.

The study aims at getting further insight into how COVID-19 has changed drug markets and relies on the active participation of the project partners across the ENP area. It will examine if and how the COVID-19 epidemic has changed drug markets (supply, use and harm), what challenges it has posed to service providers and how service providers have innovated and adapted to meet the needs of their clients.

The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) has launched the three-year EU-funded project EU4Monitoring Drugs in January 2019. The project supports national and regional readiness in the ENP area to identify and respond to drug-related health and security threats.
