TunisiaEgypt: EIB supports Maspero metro station of Cairo Metro Line 3 phase 3 Project
H. E. Fans Timmermans, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, heading the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal and H.E. Minister Rania Al- Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation in Egypt visited Maspero metro station site of the Cairo Metro Line 3 phase 3 Project, where the EIB has provided fund worth EUR 600 million for the project.
The project includes supervision and a technical assistance funded by the EU grant component, which encompasses training and transferring expertise to the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT). AFD contribution amounts to EUR 300 million, while the EU grant amounts to EUR 43 million.
‘The future can only be green. Through cooperation between Egypt and the EU Team, we will achieve a more sustainable and prosperous future for the Egyptian and the European citizens’ EVP Timmermans said.
