On 4 October, the ENI CBC Med Programme will participate in the high-level side event on “Biological Diversity, Ecosystem Restoration and Food Systems – Protecting and Restoring at the core of the shift towards Green, Blue, Circular Economy”, organized back-to-back with the Union for the Mediterranean’s Ministerial on Environment and Climate Action.

The contribution of ENI CBC Med towards a green transition in the Mediterranean and the future perspectives of the 2021-2027 Interreg NEXT MED Programme under the objective “A greener, low-carbon transitioning towards a net zero carbon economy and resilient Mediterranean” will be highlighted.

Organized by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and framed within the upcoming UN Biodiversity and Climate Change Conferences (COP 15th and COP 26th), the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, and the UN Food Systems Summit, the side event will take place on the same date of the UfM Ministerial on Environment and Climate Action.

The side-event aims at highlighting and promoting the high-level political and operational efforts towards conservation of biological diversity and ecosystem restoration, with a special focus on food systems, considering the wider shift towards green, blue, circular economy at Euro-Mediterranean level.
