The Ambassador of the European Union (EU) in Tunisia, Marcus Cornaro and the Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning, Mister Samir Saïed, have signed a programme worth €100 million in support for Tunisia.
This programme, implemented by the European Union in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in Tunisia, aims to bolster efforts to restart the economy and consolidate the progress made in distributing social support to people and businesses in need.
The signature of the programme paves the way for an initial payment of €40 million, bringing total European Union funding for Tunisia in 2022 to €550 million (including both grants and loans).
At this particularly difficult time for the Tunisian people, the EU continues to support Tunisia in tackling the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and Russian aggression against Ukraine on energy and food security.
