EU-funded CyberSouth activities in Lebanon focus on the development of judicial training material and domestic Standard Operating Procedures

The EU-funded CyberSouth project’s recent activities in Lebanon included the second meeting for the integration of the cybercrime and electronic evidence judicial training materials and the third meeting on the development of Lebanese Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The first activity took place online on 4-5 March 2021. The members of the Lebanese working group introduced the content of the basic course and sought inputs and suggestions from the Council of Europe on its further improvement and implementation. The second day focused on the development of the advanced module of the domestic judicial training course, including its structure and components.

The third activity for national Lebanese SOPswas implemented online on 8 March 2021, together with the members of the working group – law enforcement representatives from the Internal Security Forces. The aim of the activity was to analyse and discuss the Lebanese SOPs, their structure and content.

CyberSouth is a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe. It contributes to the prevention and control of cybercrime and other offences involving electronic evidence in the region of the Southern Neighbourhood, in line with international human rights and rule of law standards and good practices.
