The second D-JIL incubation session took place in Amman, Jordan, on 13-15 June 2019. It brought together the project managers selected during the second call for applications in April, in order to train them and help them to move forward with their initiatives.

These projects are: LE 31 (Algéria); FEEL (Palestine); MEN LEWEEL (Morocco); EL HOURRIA (Morocco); SAMANDALIOUNE (Lebanon); MEGAPHONE-LEBANESE ECONOMY VIDEO SERIES (Lebanon); HABKA’ARK (Libya).

The training, which focused on the management of European projects and information and communication technologies, was provided by Hamza Dridi and Francesca Valli (CFI), Colin Verot (independent consultant) and Malek Khadhraoui (Inkyfada/Al Khatt). The latter was particularly noteworthy, since he shared his experience as a former recipient of a similar grant.

The next incubation session, which will bring together all of the eighteen projects selected, will be held in Lebanon at the end of September with a view to supporting these initiatives throughout their development.

Co-funded by the European Commission and implemented by CFI, D-Jil aims to support young citizens in the Arab world through the media. Its overall objective is to contribute to the active citizenship and empowerment of young people in the target countries of the southern neighbourhood by using online media as a vector.
