EU-funded HELIOS trains 21 Jordanian women on using Circular Economy in food processing

The National Agricultural Research Center “NARC”, Jordanian Partner of HELIOS project, graduated the first class of participants in the “Blue and Circular Economy, Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills” training course which took place between 3 and 21 October.

For three weeks, twenty-one women benefited from the course focused on hard skills, entrepreneurship and soft skills within the framework of Sustainable Economy models, and above all of the Circular Economy in order to explore the related job opportunities in Jordan.

The training activity in Jordan is going to continue in the coming months involving young people and women coming from the Balqa Governorate and the Jordan Valley.

HELIOS – enHancing thE sociaL Inclusion Of neetS – focuses on the Blue and Circular Economy (BaCE), identified as an economic sector with great potential for regenerative economic growth among NEETs. The project will provide curricula for innovative targeted and tailored skills training courses oriented towards specific needs of the BaCE labour market and the needs of NEETs, based on direct interaction with local enterprises.

This will be achieved through soft skills coaching and mentoring actions, as well as the creation of e-learning tools and methodologies supported by new technologies to facilitate skills learning for NEETs and women.
