EU in Morocco and eight Moroccan leading figures take part in global campaign to end violence against women

Eight Moroccan film, television, radio and web leading figures have participated in a series of videos to uncover violence. This initiative is part of the Global Campaign to End Violence Against Girls and Women that runs until 10 December.

The actress Sarah Perles, the icon of Amazigh music Fatima Tihihit, the successful web content creator Mustapha El Fekkak (Swinga), the YouTuber Ihssane Benalluch, the stand up comedian Youssef Ksiyer, the comedian Hamza Tahri (Miz), the TV and radio host Aziza Laayouni and the journalist Salaheddine El Ghomari appear on these videos, reading poignant stories of victims of physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence from different parts of Morocco.

This series of videos, published on social media, is the result of the collaboration between the EU in Morocco, UN Women and 2M’s diversity equality committee, in partnership with the embassies of the EU in Morocco and Hit Radio.

The European Union and Morocco have committed together to fighting violence against women through different ongoing supports with MOUSSAWAT programme but also through the support to education, health, social protection, justice and civil society.
