The Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) has announced in a new video the launch of a new Agenda for the Mediterranean in 2021.

25 years after the Barcelona Declaration, the EU aims to strengthen cooperation in order to realise the Southern Neighbourhood’s untapped potential.

Through support to health systems, governance, education, inclusive and connected economies and the fight against climate change, the new Agenda identifies how we can work together to recover from the coronavirus pandemic and create opportunities for a better future.

The video released on its social media on 23 December reminds how interdependent we are and shows that by acting together, we can turn common challenges into opportunities.
