The European Union raises awareness on interviewing methods in Palestine

The EU Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police support (EUPOL COPPS) delivered training on “Communication with Children in Criminal Cases” for lawyers of the Palestinian Bar Association.

Interview serves the purpose of the criminal process – to gain information of actual facts of an alleged criminal act. However, in order to establish the truth by interviews, it is not only important what information has been received, it also matters how the information was received.

This training focused on raising awareness on interviewing methods, techniques and types of mistakes which may lead into uncertainties in statements or false statements. Special attention was paid to situation when children are involved.
