Good news for EU-Lebanon trade relations

Last week, at the port of Beirut, René Moawad Foundation and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Lebanon celebrated the expedition of 20 tons of Lebanese potatoes to Rotterdam.

The initiative is financed with a grant of 1,1 million euros from the Dutch government and piloted by the René Moawad Foundation in order to boost potato exports to the European Union.

Nayla Moawad, President of the Foundation, emphasized the social dimension of the project. She declared that the purpose is for Lebanese farmers to be able to live on their land and from their own production.
