TunisiaHigh Representative/Vice-President Borrell meets with the Vice-President of Libyan Presidential Council Mousa Al-Koni
On 5 December, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the Commission, Josep Borrell, met in Brussels with Mousa Al-Koni, Vice President of the Presidential Council of Libya. The discussion focused on how to enhance the ongoing cooperation between the European Union and Libya on key areas, including improving migration governance and management, as well as regional cooperation between Libya and the Sahel.
During the exchange, the High Representative highlighted the importance to make progress on the political process to overcome the current situation in Libya. In this context, the HR/VP also reiterated the support of the European Union for a UN-mediated political solution, based on an inclusive dialogue among all Libyan stakeholders, and ultimately aimed at elections.
The European Union will continue to stand by the Libyan people and to support them in their aspiration to live in a stable, peaceful, and prosperous country.
