It is commonly recognised that conflict aggravates human insecurity which disproportionately impacts women and girls. In the case of Palestine, the authorities, as the duty bearer in providing women and girls adequate security, justice and protection has further weakened since the outbreak of Gaza war. EUPOLCOPPS is committed to supporting the Palestinian Authority in strengthening its accountability and response mechanisms to better protect vulnerable groups, particularly women and girls. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the EU highlights the experiences of our women working in Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) missions, including EUPOL COPPS.
The contributions of our colleagues are key to promoting sustainable peace and security, with the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, guiding our mission efforts.
