According to the Italy-Tunisia ENPI Program, “Digital technologies in the field of diagnosis imaging have led to profound changes in hospital services and in the diagnosis capabilities offered to practitioners. In this regard, huge commercial opportunities are open to companies well beyond the Mediterranean.” The AIDA Project was launched for this goal (self-immunity: computer assisted diagnosis); it is funded under the ENPI-CT Italy Tunisia 2007-2013 Program with an amount of 1.7 million Euros for a total period of 30 months. AIDA’s initial results were presented on January 12, 2016 in Tunis.

The Italian-Tunisian cross-border cooperation program (CBC) supported by the EU (in the framework of the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) involves five provinces from Sicily (Agrigente, Caltanissetta, Raguse, Syracuse, Trapani) and six Tunisian coastal regions (governorates of Ariana, Béja, Ben Arous, Bizerte, Jendouba, Nabeul). The main goal of the program is to promote the economic, social, institutional and cultural integration between neighboring countries in this part of the Mediterranean.
