Jordan: The EU funds the launch of a local community radio station

The first youth internet radio station in Madaba in central Jordan has been launched by the European Union in Jordan and Ms. Jumana Ghunaimat, Jordan’s Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications this week.
Madaba Hawana station is seeing daylight thanks to Community Media Network’s effort to empower civil society through the EU-funded “Sotak Hawitak” programme, meaning “Your voice is your identity” in English. “Sotak Hawitak” aims at supporting civil society through media.
