The Anna Lindh Foundation took part on 23-24 June 2019 in the landmark “Summit of the Two Shores: Forum for the Mediterranean”. Hosted in Marseille, the Summit brought together heads of international organisations, civil society leaders and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of North Africa and European Mediterranean countries.

As a main partner of the Summit, and the Mediterranean organisation for intercultural and civil society dialogue, the Foundation has been leading the call for investment in a “Mediterranean Generation”. This included co-organising with the Maltese Ministry for Foreign Affairs the pre-Summit Valletta Forum on Youth, Mobility and Education, where young Mediterranean voices advocated for a positive and forward-looking intercultural dialogue agenda.

This process has resulted in references to cultural intelligence, intercultural learning, widening access to mobility among youth associations in the Summit’s Final Declaration.

The Foundation will leverage the preparation of its forthcoming MED FORUM 2020, the largest civil society gathering for Euro-Med dialogue taking place on 3-5 April 2020.
