Launch of the Media Pitch: opportunity for journalistic collaboration

In the framework of its editorial activities, the EU Neighbours South programme is launching the Media Pitch, an open call for journalistic collaboration for the production of Stories on projects and initiatives funded by the EU in the South region: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia.

The journalists and media representatives based in the region are invited to look for interesting stories related to EU-funded projects and initiatives on specific topics and pitch their ideas. Those that are interesting and up to the standards will be picked up and funded by the programme.

 

Topics

During the period from January to June 2023, the EU Neighbours South programmes is seeking to publish stories on the following subjects:

  • Youth Skills
  • Digital transformation, e-learning and gaming
  • Climate change, deforestation, water waste and environmental topics
  • Agriculture and food security
  • Women’s empowerment and gender equality

 

How to participate?

  1. The journalists and media representatives interested in pitching their stories are invited to consult this Media Kit and to fill this online form
  2. On the form, participants can indicate which topic/sector they are interested in and explain in one or two paragraphs the angle they wish to take for the story. 
  3. After reviewing and approving the form, EU Neighbours South will give a go ahead for the journalist to develop a full feature story.
