Libya : EU Ambassador congratulates new Prime Minister-elect

In a phone call yesterday, EU Ambassador José Sabadell congratulated the new Libyan Prime Minister-elect Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibah.

“We agreed on the need for a swift formation of a new, inclusive transitional government that will be able to bring under way important reforms and prepare for the general elections planned for 24 December,” said Ambassador Sabadell after his first conversation with Prime Minister Dbeibah.

Ambassador Sabadell also pointed to the EU’s role as co-chair of the Economic Working Group in the Berlin Process. He underlined the EU’s readiness to support Libya’s economic recovery and restoration of basic public services for the benefit of all Libyan people.
