Fifteen Libyan forensic experts, including six women, recently completed an intensive practical training course in Genetics, Toxicology, and Anthropology Investigations at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Held from February 3rd to 12th, the training equipped these professionals with advanced skills crucial for addressing Libya’s complex forensic challenges.
The training, part of the EUBAM Libya project “Hands-on training on specific laboratory techniques and observe advanced forensic laboratory practices and equipment at the University of Tor Vergata – Rome,” was made possible through a collaborative working arrangement between the University’s Department of Biomedicine and Prevention and EUBAM Libya. This initiative underscores the commitment to bolstering the forensic capabilities of the Libyan Ministry of Interior’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, specifically the Forensic Laboratories in Tripoli, Benghazi, and Sabha.
