Mediterranean: new cross-border cooperation programme starts operating

Representatives of 12 countries met in Cagliari (Sardinia) on 9 and 10 March 2016 to take important decisions for the launch of ENI CBC Med, the second generation of the Programme ENI CBC Med, which aims to reinforce cooperation in the Mediterranean area. This multilateral initiative, with a budget of EUR 209 million, is funded by the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI) under its cross-border cooperation (CBC) component.
 
The Joint Monitoring Committee, the programme’s decision-making body, held its first meeting, marking the start of the programme’s operational phase.
