“Securing a just and lasting peace remains crucial for Israelis and Palestinians, as well as for the region and beyond. That is why it is a priority for the EU”, affirmed Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy at a meeting, on Thursday 21 January, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the margins of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.

This statement is given one week after the EU announced its commitment to the two-state solution.
“The EU will remain actively engaged with both Israelis and Palestinians, including through the Quartet, in strong coordination with other international and regional partners, starting from the Arab countries”, said Mrs. Mogherini.
