On Monday 18 April 2016, the EU Foreign Affairs Council met in Luxemburg and “really had an intense day”, according to a statement by EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, in which she outlined the various items on the agenda, which focused on the “external aspects of migration”.
“On migration: The main outcome of our discussions was about the need to continue and even increase the focus we keep, as Europeans, together, on both routes”, said Mogherini.
The High Representative noted that the discussions would continue in a special meeting with Defence Ministers on Libya.
