An EU-funded twinning aiming at reinforcing the Moroccan Department of Communication as well as three supervised organisms is to be launched on 27 April in Rabat, Morocco. This project is part of the process of regulatory convergence towards the Acquis communautaire. It will contribute to the support of the department of communication as well as three organisms under its jurisdiction – the Moroccan Cinema Centre, the Higher Institute of Information and Communication and the Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Film Professions – in its process to enhance the environment and the necessary conditions to the development of the Moroccan communication and audiovisual sector.

With a budget of 1,500,000 euros, the EU-funded Twinning will run for 24 months (2018-2020) and will be managed by the Moroccan Ministry of Economy and Finances, the French Ministry of Culture being the lead partner. It foresees the mobilization of European experts in Rabat as well as several study visits of Moroccan officials in Europe.
