Morocco: Minister Saaid Amzazi talks to Claudia Wiedey, Ambassador of the European Union

Mr. Saaid Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, had talks on Thursday 15 April in Rabat with Ms. Claudia Wiedey, Ambassador of the European Union in Rabat, to strengthen and give new impetus to bilateral cooperation between Morocco and the European Union in particular in the field of scientific research.

This meeting is a continuation of the recent exchanges on the establishment of North-South cooperation actions in terms of scientific research and on the association of Morocco with the European programme “Horizon Europe”, under the new European programming 2021-2027.

Ms Claudia Wiedey expressed her confidence in the progress made in the negotiations to make Morocco a country associated with Horizon Europe and welcomed the progress made in this regard. She also referred to the new European Communication for the Southern Neighbourhood, in which Morocco is particularly well represented, in particular as regards the partnership on higher education, research and innovation. In this regard, Mrs Wiedey said: “I also want to make the link with the EU-Morocco Green Partnership, which will include many dimensions related to higher education and research. We are talking here about future issues for our societies.”
