The SouthMed WiA project co-funded by the EU aims to strengthen the capacities of female professionals and operators of the audiovisual sector in seven countries of the Southern Mediterranean: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. It contributes to sustainable development and cultural diversity by enhancing the image of women in the film sector.

This month, Lebanon will be honoured by the release of the film “Capharnaum” by the Lebanese filmmaker Nadine Labaki. The world premier will take place on May 17th for the Cannes Film Festival 2018. It will be preceded by a presentation of this year’s Lebanese cinema, news and activities, together with a talk with Ms. Labaki.
