Palestine: EU Police Head of Mission Kauko Aaltomaa meets Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh received the Head of the EU Police and Rule of Law Mission in the Palestinian Territory (EUPOL COPPS), Kauko Aaltomaa at his offices in Ramallah yesterday to wish him well for the future before the EU official leaves his post on 30 September this year.

The Prime Minister was complimentary about the achievements of the Mission supporting police and rule of law reform in the West Bank during the three years it has been led by Mr Aaltomaa and expressed his gratitude for the Mission’s efforts. Mr Shtayyeh moreover stated that he wished Mr Aaltomaa personally success for the future.

The Head of EUPOL COPPS thanked the Palestinian Prime Minister for the cooperation with the Mission and the generosity of spirit with which that cooperation has been conducted. He also wished the Prime Minister and his family a happy Eid al-Adha.

EUPOL COPPS is the European Union Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support. The aim of the Mission is to contribute to the establishment of sustainable and effective policing arrangements and to advise Palestinian counterparts on criminal justice and rule of law related aspects under Palestinian ownership.
