Funded by the European Union in Jordan, the EU Support to Jordanian Democratic Institutions and Development – EU JDID project launched the podcast “Parliament through time”. It investigates the origins, development and current practices of the institution of parliament in Europe and the Middle East. It also explores how parliaments came to existence and how the first parliaments used to work, how the institution thrived in times of difficulties and crisis, and how it developed to become a central democratic institution of modern age.

The EU-funded programme EU Support to Jordanian Democratic Institutions and Development (EU-JDID) aims at supporting Jordan’s reform process towards consolidation of democracy and at promoting inclusiveness of national policy and decision-making processes. The Programme also intends to enhance women and youth inclusion and to foster a stronger democratic and tolerant political culture.
