The Anna Lindh foundation (ALF) and the European Institute for the Mediterranean (IEMed) have launched the 9th edition of their literary competition, this year on the theme of “the fight against sexist violence”.

For this year’s edition, the organisers are calling for real or fictional stories that address different experiences and views on the various types of gender violence and discrimination within societies, in order to question established patterns and promote new ways of approaching equality.

The contest is open to participants from the 44 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area, aged between 18 and 30 years old. The deadline for submissions is 2 June 2016.

The Anna Lindh Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue promotes knowledge, mutual respect and inter-cultural dialogue between the people of the Euro-Mediterranean region, working through a network of more than 3,000 civil society organisations in 43 countries. Its budget is co-funded by the EU (€7 million) and the EU member states (€6 million).
