TunisiaSTAND Up!: 34 projects in the fashion and clothing industry selected in Egypt
A selection of 34 young green entrepreneurs with their sustainable fashion and textile ideas and projects are the result of the call coordinated by SEKEM Development Foundation in Egypt to participate in the STAND Up! Growing Innovation Program.
Being balanced in the presence of female and male entrepreneurs (58% are women), the group is characterised by the high percentage of young people under 35 years of age, which represents about 75% of selected participants.But even better, many of them are -20 years old.
One of the most interesting elements is how fashion designers, start-uppers, young entrepreneurs and eco-friendly initiatives are engaging to make the Egyptian industry more beneficial for the environment and for the economy.
The EU-funded STAND UP! project intends to support textile entrepreneurs and eco-innovative ventures in 5 countries (Spain, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Italy) and help them seize the business opportunities that the green evolution will generate.
