On Tuesday, the European Union Delegation in Algeria organised a round table on climate challenges and the stakes involved in the ecological transition. The event was attended by civil society representatives, activists and experts in the climate and environment field, as well as business leaders and members of the diplomatic community.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the main results of the last COP 29 summit and to consider whether this forum should be restructured in order to give more weight to smaller states. Participants also discussed the balance between economic competitiveness and environmental impact, environmental justice, and the role of civil society and local authorities in the debate on climate issues.
