Thematic event to discover how EU cross-border cooperation programme ENI CBC Med fosters development of youth and women professional skills

The Region of Lazio, in collaboration with the Region of Puglia and in agreement with the Managing of the EU-funded ENI CBC Med Programme, is organizing a thematic event dedicated to highlight how Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, and in particular the ENI CBC Med Programme, supports and fosters the development of professional skills of young people and women and their inclusion in the labor market. The event will take place on 10 December in Rome, Italy.

Besides discussions between institutional representatives, experts and academics, the following projects will be presented:

  • HELIOS “enHancing thE sociaL Inclusion Of nets”
  • InnovAgroWoMed “Social Innovation in the Agri-food sector for Women’s Empowerment in the Mediterranean sea basin”
  • RESMYLE “Repenser emploi et insertion sociale des jeunes méditerranéens à travers le développement durable”

ENI CBC Med is the largest Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) initiative implemented by the EU under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI). The Programme brings together the coastal territories of 14 EU and partner countries in view of fostering fair, equitable and sustainable development on both sides of the EU’s external borders.

Through call for proposals,ENI CBC Med finances cooperation projects for a more competitive, innovative, inclusive and sustainable Mediterranean area.

Under the 2014-2020 period, the European Union has invested more than €1 billion to support 16 ENI CBC programmes between EU Member States and neighbouring countries sharing a land border, a sea crossing or a sea basin, from the Arctic to the Southern Mediterranean.
