Two days of training were organized by the COMMON project team at the INSTM, in Monastir, on the circular economy, aimed at strengthening institutional capacities in the fight against marine litter throughout the integrated coastal zone management plan.

The event, held on 17 and 18 August, brought together the different local actors of the city of Monastir, to discuss and exchange information on the main problems related to the management of household waste in the city.

The first day was dedicated to issues related to waste management in Tunisia and the circular economy in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors. The second day of the training was dedicated to workshops: case studies, context, sources and routes of marine plastic waste production, solid waste management and marine litter prevention activities.
