Tunisia : European Bank for Reconstruction and Development monitors projects in southern governorates

Mr. Khalil Dinguizli, Acting Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office, and Mr Abdelaziz Chaouachi, in charge of infrastructure projects in the bank, met last week with Mrs Aksa Bahri, Secretary of State for water resources.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the rehabilitation of the oases deep drillings in the governorates of Tozeur, Kebili, Gafsa and Gabes.

The EBRD will fund the technical assistance related to the project, seeking to improve water resource management and to promote the inclusion of youth and women in the region.

Since the start of its operations in Tunisia in 2012, the EBRD has invested €945 million across 46 projects there and provided technical assistance to nearly 1,000 SMEs, two-thirds of which are located in various regions of the country.
