The European Union and the Tunisian Ministry of Health co-hosted a feedback seminar on the results of Essaha Aziza, the healthcare sector support programme in Tunisia, on 24 and 25 June in Tunis. The goal was to contribute to the implementation of the National Health Policy and prepare sector reforms.

The purpose of the seminar was to communicate the operating results of the first phase of the Essaha Aziza programme (2017-2021), to prepare the deployment of the experts’ recommendations for the implementation of the National Healthcare Policy and to extend the good practices and initiatives which have already been successfully tested to the future phase 2 of the project.

Four technical committees for the implementation of the National Health Policy (PNS) met for two days with the experts of the Essaha Aziza programme. They defined the practical aspects of PNS implementation and jointly identified the potential areas for cooperation with the Essaha Aziza programme, based on the recommendations of the experts and the review of best practices tested during programme implementation.

The resulting recommendations will help the participants adapt their roles to contribute to health system reform.
