In its continuous efforts to support building more resilient economies in the region, the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean with the support of the German Development Cooperation and in collaboration with Climate & Company, is organizing a Workshop on Sustainable Supply Chain on 9 and 10 July 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.

Enhancing collaboration with the Mediterranean partner countries is essential for the EU to meet its environmental targets and contribute to worldwide sustainability efforts. Establishing trust in international relations is fundamental for the effective global application of EU policies and legislation. Trade and corporate relationships within value chains are at the heart of these efforts.

This awareness-raising Workshop aims to support the compliance with EU regulatory measures particularly the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The workshop also will explore the linkages between these regulatory measures and the sustainable finance regulatory framework.

The workshop is intended for representatives from Government officials, Business Associations, Industrial Federations, Export Councils and Private Sector from UfM Member States.
