For the first time since its inception, 2,000 UNRWA students from across the West Bank – from the northern city of Jenin to the south in Hebron, and all in between – filled 40 UNRWA school buses and set off on a field trip to Nablus to spend the whole day. As the bus wheels drove, the students, supervised by 100 UNRWA teachers and administrators, began to sing and celebrate all the way. The crowd went to the Al-Badan Oasis in Nablus to escape the summer heat, swim and enjoy being children! The European Union has been a fervent advocate for Palestine refugee children and the exercise of their right to play, dedicated to working with UNRWA to create safe spaces and opportunities for our students since 1971.
