The survey will close on 25 November 2022 at 12:00 PM CET. Please submit your application before the deadline. The final list of Charter signatories and Friends of the Mission will be announced in January 2023.

The survey aims to assess the interest from regions and communities in joining the Mission Adaptation to Climate Change by signing up to the Mission Charter. It also seeks to understand the key issues and challenges faced by local and regional authorities in the EU in adapting to the impacts of climate change.

The Mission’s secretariat will evaluate the commitment of regions and communities through the replies and evidence provided. On this basis, regions and communities will be invited to sign the Mission Charter. Representatives from regional and local authorities will be asked to sign off the Mission Charter on behalf of their respective authorities.

Regions and local authorities established in countries associated to Horizon Europe or in other third countries negotiating association to Horizon Europe can be involved in the mission by adhering to the charter. However, they should be aware that they may not be eligible to receive funding from other EU programmes and may not be able to benefit from all services from the Mission Implementation Platform.

As EU funding schemes are usually not available to non-associated third countries, regions and local authorities established therein cannot benefit from support of the Mission Implementation Platform or any other support to be provided through the Mission. They are thus not advised to fill in the questionnaire.
