THE GENDERED IMPACT OF AUSTERITY: EXPERIENCES FROM THE EURO-MED REGION
Austerity continues to impact human rights globally. Cuts to public spending, wages, social protection, and welfare exacerbate societal inequalities, including gender disparity.
Drawing on cross-regional experiences in the Euro-Mediterranean region, we will explore the gendered impact of austerity measures, sheding light on how international financial institutions, such as the IMF, contribute to reproducing gender inequalities in economic policies.
