Objectives

The aim of the Technical Assistance programme under the Mediterranean Urban Projects Finance Initiative (UPFI technical assistance) is to develop sustainable and innovative urban projects that represent best practices and that are potentially replicable.

What Does It Do

The programme will accelerate the implementation of such urban projects and make them bankable. The overarching goal is to help improve living conditions in the Mediterranean partner countries, where the urbanisation growth rate is rapidly increasing due to demographic and environmental pressure.

It is envisaged to identify ten to fifteen innovative sustainable urban projects to be financed by International Financial Institutions. Knowledge sharing and networking opportunities are organised for urban operators, policy makers, middle management in the public sector and urban planning experts.
