meetMED project, funded by the European Union launches its highly anticipated guidebook “Green Financing Capabilities with a Specific Focus on Energy Efficient Buildings and Appliances”.
Moving towards green financing will achieve many economic benefits in terms of mitigating and avoiding the damage resulting from climate change by reducing the causes leading to it in terms of emissions in various productive sectors, of which the energy component is a major cause.
The guidebook provides a comprehensive overview about the green financing mechanisms directed toward sustainable energy, including concepts, methodologies, and characteristics. It also showcases examples of implemented mechanisms in several Southern Mediterranean countries.
Featuring distinguished contributions from the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), Royal Scientific Society (RSS) Jordan, the Lebanese Energy Management and Environment Association – (ALMEE), and the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority – (PENRA)
The guidebook underscores the pressing need to promote and disseminate the successful implementation of green financing programs for distributed sustainable energy systems on the national level.
