The Handbook of European Journalism, is the final publication of the Journalistic Craft for Neighbourhood (JCN) project – ‘Developing knowledge-based European journalism relating to Europe’s neighbours’ – funded by the European Union and delivered through educational activities by the Natolin Campus of the College of Europe.

This e-book includes:

  • a description of the project,
  • a brief analysis of the situation in the media, including media freedom, disinformation trends, polarisation, and challenges faced by journalism nowadays,
  • chapters discussing monetisation, disinformation, open-data and investigative reporting, conflict-sensitive reporting, and multimedia journalism. Each chapter provides the reader with knowledge, examples of best practices, as well as useful tips within each topic,
  • works by winners of the JCN project’s journalistic competition.
