The adventurous traveler and storyteller
At the age of 29, Mohamed humorously claims to be just five years old, saying that his true growth began when he embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery. This journey involved going through his own country and venturing into other nations, which opened his eyes to diverse ways of life and cultures, nurturing his open-mindedness and adaptability.
During his teenage years, Mohamed had a passion for cinema. Despite facing opposition from his family, he saved up his allowance to pay for an intensive course in cinematography. Although he holds an engineering degree, he never worked in the field and his heart remained devoted to his true calling.
Driven by his adventurous spirit, Mohamed embarked on a phase of exploration within Lebanon, discovering hidden gems that were often overlooked by both locals and tourists. Captivated by the beauty of these unexplored places and the stunning natural scenery, he made it his mission to shed light on them. Thus, Mohamed became a content creator, using his platform to showcase the beauty of underrated regions and countries. Mohamed also founded a hiking club that brings people together to go to these hidden gems. This later led him to organize guided tours for tourists. Through his work, he shares his love for outdoor activities, particularly hiking.
Mohamed’s content includes travel, nature, culture, and stories about underrated regions and countries. He initially focused on his own city, Tripoli, which he believed deserved more recognition and appreciation. However, his interests expanded beyond his hometown as he traveled to various countries, sharing the unique stories of each place he visited. When traveling, Mohamed immerses himself in different ways of life and cultures, demonstrating an innate ability to adapt to any environment. His open-mindedness allows him to embrace new experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Authenticity is a cornerstone of Mohamed’s work. He remains true to himself by sharing his real travel experiences, showcasing both the positive and negative aspects of the trips. Even in potentially controversial situations, such as his visit to Iraq and Kurdistan, he maintained his honesty regardless of potential backlash.
Mohamed’s overarching mission is to challenge stereotypes not only about Tripoli and Lebanon but also about the countries he visits and the cultures he explores. Through his storytelling and authentic perspective, he aspires to bridge the gaps between different societies and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of our shared humanity.
Mohamed’s involvement in the #InTheirEyes further reinforced his belief in the power of cultural exchange and the similarities between people from diverse backgrounds. Initially perceiving the EU as distant and detached, he discovered that the challenges faced by the youth in Europe closely mirrored those in Lebanon. This realization sparked a sense of closeness and relatability, not only with the youth he connected with through the program but also with the EU.
