Algeria: EU contributes to employment

The EU and Algeria are to organise a national seminar, on Thursday 17 March 2016, to present the results of the ‘Project of Support for the Employment Sector in Algeria’ (PASEA), the European Union Delegation in Algiers said in a statement. The “New Momentum for Employment” seminar aims to show the positive impact of Algerian-European cooperation on employment as well as the evolutions that have transformed the state employment service in Algeria, the statement said. This seminar is being jointly organised by the EU Delegation with the Algerian Ministry for Employment and Social Security (MTESS).
 
PASEA is a cooperation programme signed in December 2010 to provide assistance to the National Employment Agency (ANEM) and MTESS. Its duration was extended (from December 2014 till 31 March 2016) and its budget was fixed at EUR 15.3 million, including a European contribution of EUR 14.1 million.
