EBSOMED and MED MSMEs regional programmes joined forces on 4 October on the occasion of the “Access to Alternative and Innovative Finance Comparative Study” webinar. The event aimed at sharing the results and recommendations of the “Comparative study on policies to facilitate Access to Alternative Finance for MSMEs in the EU South Med region” that is presented in the form of a discussion paper.

The webinar was an opportunity to take stock and discuss the experts’ recommendations and the way forward to turn them into concrete policy, regulatory and MSME support initiatives.

It gathered policy makers, bankers, and alternative finance providers and other EU-funded regional programmes to allow them to learn about available policies and instruments in the region and also discuss the possible exchange of those polices and instruments among partner countries.

Co-financed by the European Commission, EBSOMED is a 4-year project which was officially launched in June 2018 in Tunis. The project aims at boosting the Mediterranean business ecosystem and promoting inclusive economic growth and job creation, by enhancing the private sector environment and namely the Business Support Organisations in the Southern Neighbourhood countries.
