ETF support to Vocational Education and Training in Tunisia

 A pilot project implemented by the European Training Foundation and the Tunisian government to improve local Vocational Education and Training (VET) governance in the governorate of Médenine, seeks to increase the involvement of local stakeholders in order to establish a system that responds better to the needs of local employers.

 
Through the project, new tools, methodologies and indicators are helping stakeholders better analyse local education, employment and skills situations. New networks are also emerging, such as the forum for employability, entrepreneurship and training, which brings together local companies, public employment services and training institutions to provide guidance to young people, and will become an annual event.
 
Twelve ‘fiches pratiques’ provide practical help to assist other regions adopt a more regional approach. A separate pilot project, also with the aim of strengthening multilevel governance, is running in Gabes, Tunisia, as part of the ETF’s Governance for Employability in the Mediterranean (GEMM) project, funded by the EU.
 
The European Training Foundation is an agency of the European Union established to contribute to the development of the education and training systems of the EU partner countries.
